A navette, carree & brilliant cut diamond ring

Finding the ideal proportion of a navette cut diamond is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Many of the diamonds cut in this shape are so narrow that the facets at the points have to be squeezed tightly together, therefore the points appear white, and almost opaque, diminishing the brilliance  of the stone. 

In the navette we found for this ring, the proportion is perfect, and the resulting brilliance is exquisite. It is a beautiful diamond of D colour VS2 clarity, and weighs 0.90 carats. It is set with a pair of square-cut diamonds of 0.29 carats total, and two small brilliant cut diamonds of 0.03 carats total, all E colour VS clarity.

The ring is crafted in platinum with great finesse, and precise millegrain setting edges. The navette shape, a favourite design from antiquity, looks so elegant on the finger and elongates the hand while catching the light to gently sparkle.
