A unique pair of violet sapphire & diamond cluster earrings

We could not resist this amazing pair of violet sapphires from Sri Lanka. Their colour is bewitching, the deepest soft violet, akin to the velvet petals of an Iris, a merging of purple and blue in perfect harmony. They are also so vibrant, they seem almost to be lit from within.

 The sapphires weigh a total of 3.13 carats, and we have set them in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum mounts with 28 brilliant cut diamonds of total weight 0.53 carat, all E colour ( exceptional white) VS clarity.

On the ear they sit wonderfully, the diamonds forming a fascinating frame to these sapphires of such a glorious colour.
